Nishani Samaraweera, PhD, LP
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Michigan with over 15 years of postdoctoral experience as a therapist. I believe that all individuals have a right to competent, compassionate care. I implement empirically supported treatment approaches – such as cognitive behavioral therapies and values-based behavior activation – that nurture understanding and change. I also provide psychological evaluations (assessment and testing) for adults.
I have been in private practice since 2024. Prior to that, I was the psychologist at Borgess Hospital’s Delano clinic, where I provided outpatient therapy and conducted psychological evaluations for many years. I have also taught undergraduate students, supervised emerging clinicians, and collaborated on research projects
